Johnny has Dyslexia...Now what?
Objectives:

This workshop will provide training on understanding the assessment results from a dyslexia or related evaluation and using the information to create learning outcomes for students struggling in the area of literacy. Additionally, attendees will be provided with the tools to integrate evidence-based multisensory activities into current literacy curriculum.
Evidence-Based Assessment, Diagnosis, and Intervention Procedures for Dyslexia
Objective:

3. discuss foundations for a dyslexia assessment
4. demonstrate literacy activities to improve literacy skills
This workshop aims to provide in-depth information about dyslexia including the assessment and diagnosis process and intervention procedures that can be integrated into the classroom setting. Participants will be provided with a toolkit of information that will allow them to identify students who may show signs of dyslexia and to make appropriate referrals.
Integrating Literacy Intervention in the Early Learning Classroom
Objectives:

3. discuss foundational early literacy skills that facilitate later literacy skills
This workshop is geared towards early learning teaching professionals (e.g., childcare providers, prekindergarten teachers) and related professionals (e.g., SLPs in early intervention setting). The content of the workshop includes a discussion of early literacy skills which provide an essential stepping stone for later literacy skills. Additionally, demonstrations of multisensory literacy activities that can be utilized across the learning curriculum will be discussed. Participants will have an opportunity to create and demonstrate activities that are appropriate for their students.
